Expert Drainage & Erosion Solutions in Alexandria, VA

Drainage and erosion problems are common across Alexandria, VA properties. Heavy rain events push water across rooftops, driveways, and compacted soil, sending runoff toward foundations and low-lying yards. The city's mix of older neighborhoods, dense impervious surfaces, and proximity to the Potomac River and local tributaries like Four Mile Run and Holmes Run makes unmanaged runoff a real property risk. AllGreen Solutions Stormwater Management addresses these problems with site-specific excavation and grading work, subsurface drainage installation, erosion control measures, and soil stabilization. We assess how water moves across your property, identify where it pools or cuts channels, and build a drainage system that redirects flow away from structures and vulnerable soil. Whether you have a sloped backyard losing topsoil after every storm, a low spot that stays saturated, or a foundation line collecting runoff from a neighboring grade, we design and install a solution built for your site conditions. Call us to schedule a site assessment for your Alexandria property.

Yes, grading that slopes toward your home pushes water against foundation walls and increases soil pressure over time. Correcting the grade so water flows away from the structure is one of the most direct ways to protect your foundation.

In most cases, yes. Controlling where and how water moves across your property removes the force that strips and carries soil away. AllGreen Solutions addresses both the drainage path and the eroding soil as part of a single site solution in Alexandria.

Yes, AllGreen Solutions handles drainage and erosion work for both residential and commercial properties in Alexandria, VA. Project scope and site conditions vary, so we evaluate each property before recommending an approach.

Erosion spreads when water repeatedly flows over the same unprotected soil, cutting deeper channels and removing more material with each storm. Alexandria's frequent intense rain events and high percentage of impervious surfaces accelerate this process on unmanaged properties.

In Sep 2019 AllGreen removed the old timber stair/walkway in my back yard and rebuilt it with a lovely stone structure. The workmanship was outstanding -- from the careful excavation to the reinforced concrete foundation to the carefully finished stone work. Every aspect of the project was handled well -- timely scheduling, thorough cleanup each day, prompt removal of all debris, to careful raking, grading, and seeding at the end. Project Manager Kyle Jansen and foreman Carlos could not have been better to work with or more willing to be helpful. I am extremely pleased!

John Waldron came out to look at our walkway and tree. It turns out the walkway was worse off than we thought. John very carefully explained the problems and possible solutions, providing us with several options. I enjoyed working with him very much. The quote was reasonable, but higher than we planned for the extra things we wanted done. We plan to have the work
