Expert Proprietary Stormwater System Maintenance in Alexandria, VA

Proprietary stormwater system maintenance keeps underground and enclosed stormwater devices working as designed. In Alexandria, VA, properties with these systems are required to keep them in working order, and the City enforces compliance under its Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Program. Alexandria's dense mix of older commercial corridors, multi-family developments, and infill residential lots means many properties rely on compact, below-grade proprietary devices rather than open ponds or surface BMPs. AllGreen Solutions inspects, cleans, and services these systems to remove accumulated sediment and debris, clear inlets and outlets, and document condition for your compliance records. Stormwater runoff in Alexandria picks up oil, sediment, and nutrients from hard surfaces before reaching the Potomac River watershed, so a neglected system does not just create a compliance risk — it creates a real water quality problem. If your property has a maintenance agreement on file with the City, we can help you meet those obligations. Contact AllGreen Solutions to schedule a service visit.

Proprietary Stormwater System Maintenance FAQ

Common questions about proprietary stormwater system maintenance in Alexandria, VA.

Yes — property owners in Alexandria with private stormwater facilities are required to keep them in working order. Proprietary systems in particular require a trained professional for safe inspection and proper servicing.

We inspect the system, remove accumulated sediment and debris, check inlets and outlets for damage or blockage, and document the condition of the device. You receive a written service record after each visit.

Most systems in Alexandria require at least one professional inspection and service per year, though systems on high-traffic or heavily paved sites may need more frequent attention. We assess your specific system and site conditions during the first visit.

A neglected system can lose treatment capacity, cause localized flooding, and put your property out of compliance with Alexandria's stormwater regulations. Violations can result in notices from the City and escalating corrective action requirements.

Yes — we work with commercial property owners and managers across Alexandria, VA. We handle the inspection, cleaning, and documentation that commercial sites typically need to satisfy their maintenance agreements.

You do not need to be present for most service visits, but we do need clear access to the system location on your Alexandria property. We coordinate access details with you before the visit.

In Sep 2019 AllGreen removed the old timber stair/walkway in my back yard and rebuilt it with a lovely stone structure. The workmanship was outstanding -- from the careful excavation to the reinforced concrete foundation to the carefully finished stone work. Every aspect of the project was handled well -- timely scheduling, thorough cleanup each day, prompt removal of all debris, to careful raking, grading, and seeding at the end. Project Manager Kyle Jansen and foreman Carlos could not have been better to work with or more willing to be helpful. I am extremely pleased!

John Waldron came out to look at our walkway and tree. It turns out the walkway was worse off than we thought. John very carefully explained the problems and possible solutions, providing us with several options. I enjoyed working with him very much. The quote was reasonable, but higher than we planned for the extra things we wanted done. We plan to have the work
